Discovery Flight

Take the first step and experience for yourself how it feels to fly an airplane!

The Discovery Flight is a two hour session where you will learn the basic procedures in flying and actually fly the airplane. A flight instructor will explain the necessary steps needed to make a safe flight and brief you on how to control the airplane.

First, you will be given a brief ground lesson about the airplane, fundamentals of flying, weather, local area and safety precautions. This will be a great opportunity to ask your flight instructor about flying and the world of aviation.

After the briefing, you will then proceed to the airplane and conduct the pre-flight inspection. This is the initial step to determine if the airplane is airworthy for flight. You will be asked to read the checklist as your flight instructor demonstrates the actual inspection. After the preflight inspection, you will then proceed with the flight.

In the flight portion, instructions will be given on starting the engine, taxiing (controlling the airplane on the ground), before take-off check, departure and takeoff procedures, talking to controllers, fundamental maneuvers, arrival, and landing procedures. You will control the airplane with the guidance of your flight instructor. There will be no surprises as this would have been discussed on the ground making it easy and fun. The flight usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. This flight can be logged as your first flight lesson.

After the flight, you will be able to assess if you want to continue and join the elite community of pilots. The Discovery Flight costs $110.00. You can add a passenger for an additional $30.00. Some restrictions on weight and height do apply.
