Flight Instruction
Flight Instructor

Share your knowledge and experience of flying to others!

Inspiring others to achieve and complete one’s goal is the greatest asset of a good teacher. A flight instructor is somebody who can impart and share their experience and knowledge of flying to aspiring pilots with patience and a high level of professionalism. If you see yourself working in aviation, a flight instructor certificate could be very instrumental.

As a certified flight instructor, flight times accumulated when giving instruction can be logged as pilot in command time. This is the most common and realistic approach to gaining the flight time required for a higher rating. Not only will you gain the flight times but you also get compensated doing it. However, a high level of professionalism is required of you because you have the responsibility of training safe pilots that will fly in our airspace.

To be eligible for a flight instructor certificate, you must at least be 18 years old, a commercial pilot or ATP license holder with an instrument rating, and be able to read, speak, write and understand English. You must pass the FAA Knowledge Test on the Fundamentals of Teaching and the Flight Instructor Knowledge Test that is appropriate for the flight instructor rating sought.

The training is geared towards improving your teaching skills both on the ground and in-flight. You will learn the fundamentals of instructing like lesson planning, course development, classroom teaching and student evaluation and testing. For the flight, you will learn to fly and instruct from the right seat refining your piloting and instructing skills to meet the requirements of the CFI practical test.

As previously mentioned, a high level of professionalism is required of a good flight instructor so it is essential to get the correct training and practice. Contact us if you have what it takes to be a flight instructor!
