One day while I was stuck in heavy traffic in Indiana making my weekly drive back from Traverse City Michigan where my family spends their summers, a friend of mine called and asked me what I was up to. I told him that I was in bumper to bumper traffic on Interstate 90 making my way around the lake to get back to Arlington Heights for an appointment and that I couldn't be late. He told me that I was stupid for driving and that I should be flying back and forth.
Prior to taking lessons through Boraam Aviation, I took lessons from two other flight training schools, which both went out of business. At Boraam Aviation, I found their training program easy to follow and the information invaluable. The training was well balanced between ground school and flight training. The cost and time to obtain my private pilots license was a fraction of what other schools would have charged. I was very well prepared for the written and oral exams, and the flight portion of the exam went off without a hitch. The knowledge and skills I learned have made me a very safe, confident, and well rounded pilot.
I was enamored with how peaceful yet exhilarating I found flying. Having a very stressful job, I found flying a great opportunity to leave all of those problems on the ground and take to the skies. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to become a pilot and am finding more and more uses for it all the time.
I knew nothing about aviation prior to becoming a pilot, and I mean nothing. I think that anyone out there that wants to become a pilot can do it and Boraam Aviation is the best vehicle to get an aspiring pilot there quickly, affordably, and most important, safely. I often ask pilots if they have any regrets about flying and the one answer I get over and over is, "I only wish I had become a pilot sooner", me too. Anyone even thinking about what it would be like owes it to themselves to give it a try, because the longer you wait, the more regrets you will have.
The enjoyment of flying and the opportunity to get places quickly has been a great gift and a rewarding one at that. Needless to say, those dreaded weekend trips up to Traverse City have now become the highlight of my summers. Obtaining my private pilot license $5,000, watching other guys I know from this area that do that seven hour weekend drive up to Traverse City, when it takes me two hours flying, priceless. – Scott Allbright
